The Evolution of Perspective is an acrylic painting using tape masking to produce hard edges and strongly geometric patterns. The base is a free form and somewhat surreal abstract drawing and shaded painting typical of my style. A strong geometric perspective pattern was overlaid using tape masking. This pattern was then modulated by a second level of masked shapes and by careful free hand painting and tinting. The modulations to each subsequent layer are enhanced by a somewhat limited palette, creating patterns and illusions of perspective that merge and evolve.
