Notes:

Archival inks on acid free paper – pigmented art marker, pigmented brush pens and pigmented fine liner pens. Drawn by hand (not digitally) using drafting tools and templates.

An ink drawing using freehand techniques and inking templates. Opaque white india Ink marker was used to create a pattern in the background. This acts almost like a mask or frisket, but instead of blocking the color on top, a lighter, thinner layer is achieved. Archival pigmented ink pens and markers on acid free vellum textured Bristol paper.

My recent group of drawings, “Idea Cycles” are hand drawn without digital aids. They combine careful freehand details with very regular geometric shapes using a ruler and compass and a variety of inking templates. Ink and paper Chemistry create their own set of challenges, which in turn lend to the character of these detailed drawings. The subjects of “Idea Cycles” are ideas – about Science and technology, but also about innovation and ideation in a more general sense.
